High Hopes

"High Hopes" depicts a strong, young, cowgirl looking toward the West. When someone speaks of "holding down the fort," it basically means keeping an eye on things while the person in charge is away. The expression seems like a misnomer, since a fort is a large building constructed as a stronghold. However, often the job of keeping order and doing the day to day work has fallen upon the shoulders of capable women who patiently and confidently do just that, hold things together and keep things going.
